UG Kicks Off Construction of $10 Million Korean-Funded ICT Centre

The University of Ghana has officially begun construction on a $10 million ICT Centre funded by Korea. This facility named the Ghana-Korea Centre of Excellence for ICT-Based Startups and Research, is being built on land provided by the university and is projected to be completed by 2026.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Professor Gordon Awandare, the Pro Vice-Chancellor responsible for Academic and Student Affairs, highlighted the project's significance as a major investment and a testament to the strengthening relationship between Ghana and Korea. “I’ve been informed that this is the largest grant ever received from the Republic of Korea to Ghana, showcasing the genuine friendship and ever-growing ties between our two nations,” he stated.

The Korean Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Park Kyongsig, referred to the initiative as a symbol of camaraderie and expressed optimism about its future influence on Ghana's startup ecosystem. “This project has two main components. One is the ICT centre, and the other is an incubation centre for startups. We are committed to supporting these enterprises, and perhaps one day, one of them will emerge as a leading company not just in Ghana, but globally. Our expectations are high,” he remarked.

The Centre aims to become a trusted point for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, aligning with the government's goal to enhance the country’s digital economy and foster local businesses.

MIDDLE EAST NATIONS FEAR THE PROSPECT OF A WIDER WAR(Analysis)

1. Yes, it does. This is because it has shown the image of how the place looked like before the war and the impact the war has made.
2. It evokes sympathy. This is because it makes the audience feel bad for those in that geographical location putting the previous state and the current into consideration.
3. It is not manipulated or biased. This is because it is clearly showing the before and after without adding or subtracting anything from it.
4. The angle gives a clear view making the audience see clearly how bad the situation is and how bad it can become.
5. It adds depth to the story. This is because upon seeing the image, you get a better understanding of how intense the situation is.
6. Yes, it will. If the image was only the before without the after, the audience are most likely to not feel the intensity like they feel upon seeing the after.
7. This image has shown both sides when most stories only show the current state leaving the before out
8. Yes, it is culturally and politically significant. It creates awareness for those in the middles east and also poses an alert to the government there.

11 CHINESE ILLEGAL MINERS ARRESTED; EXCAVATORS, OTHER EQUIPMENT SEIZED.

1. Yes, it does because in the image, it seems the Chinese people are tired and bent which shows they are at a police station, possibly for interrogation.

2. Urgency and awareness to citizens about doing things they are not supposed to do in Ghana or our country.

3. No, it is not. When the image is being looked at, even without the headline, a person can conclude that they are people who have done something bad, Looking at where they are standing and how their posture is.

4. In this case, it doesn't affect it very much because where they are at the moment from each angle the image was shot showed only made it look like they are the bad ones. The label “this is their posture, framed as guilty or criminal video.”

5. It does. Basically when an image is added to something, it makes it make sense. In this case, it made it very understandable from just one clear picture about it.

6. Yes, possibly. If the image is supposed to change, it will possibly change the whole idea and might even make them look likr victims because of how it would be taken and how it would be framed.

7. The image helps put more information out there, even if it's just for an image. There are a lot of people who believe what they see. Find more proof at the same time they make use of both. Imagine listening to a news like this without an image. The conclusion of just seeing them and what happened will be useless.

8. It is culturally significant. This is because it resonates fairly with ghanaians
